Report a problem

Signatures come in endless shapes, so no tool reads every one perfectly. If a value went into the wrong field, or something did not work, tell us and we will fix what we can, as fast as we can. It helps to include:

From version 2.6.6 you can also press Report a problem in the panel or in Settings. It opens an email to us with the version already filled in.

Getting started

How do I open Contact Clipper?

Click the Contact Clipper icon in the Chrome toolbar to open the side panel. To keep the icon in view, click the puzzle-piece icon and pin Contact Clipper.

Where is the Gmail button?

Open any email in Gmail and press Add to Contacts. The panel reads only the email on screen, only when you press the button. You can turn the button off in Settings.

Which computers does it run on?

Google Chrome on Windows, Mac or Chromebook. It isn’t available for phones, but what you save shows up on your phone through Google Contacts.

Will the contact show up on my iPhone?

Yes, if your iPhone syncs contacts from your Google account. On the iPhone, open Settings, then Contacts, then Accounts, choose your Google account and turn on Contacts. Android phones signed in to the same Google account sync on their own.

Reading and saving

A value went into the wrong field. What do I do?

You can change every field before you save, and fields the panel is not sure about are marked so you can check them. Nothing you paste is lost: anything that does not fit a field goes to Notes. If a signature was read wrong, please send it to us so we can improve it.

What if one email has several people?

Each person becomes a separate contact in a list, with their own phone and email. Another person’s details are never added to the wrong contact. Save them all at once, or only the ones you pick.

What if the person is already in my contacts?

Contact Clipper checks for the same email, phone or name before saving. The contact you have is updated instead of saved twice: new phones, emails, title or company are added, and what is already there stays. Saving one person, you see the match first and choose.

Does it work with Outlook or Apple Contacts?

It saves to Google Contacts. For other address books, download the contact as a vCard (.vcf) and import it.

Free and Pro

What happens after my 10 free saves?

Sorting keeps working and you can still download a vCard. Saving straight to Google Contacts starts again next month, or right away with Pro.

What does Pro add?

Unlimited contacts, a follow-up log in your own Google Sheet, several labels per contact, and connections to Follow Up Boss, HubSpot, and webhooks for Zapier, Make and n8n. Pro is $29 a year or $4.99 a month, or $79 once for life (launch price).

How do I cancel?

Cancel anytime from the extension’s Settings. Lifetime is a one-time payment, so there is nothing to cancel.

Privacy

Who can see my contacts?

Your contacts go only to your own Google account. Contact Clipper has no server of its own, does not sell your data, and does not use it for advertising. Read the full Privacy Policy.

How do I disconnect or remove it?

Disconnect Google at any time in your Google account under Security, then “Third-party apps with account access”. Uninstall the extension to remove everything it stored on your computer.
